Seeing the need for scrapbooking resource websites, Kara Kelso used her expertise to build a site which met those needs. November marks the grand opening of “The Scrapbooking Source”, an online community and resource site for scrapbookers.
Unlike other scrapbooking websites who sell their own products, The Scrapbooking Source features a full list of various suppliers around the net. You aren’t just limited to supplies from one company, but have the option to “shop around”. There are also helpful articles, layout ideas, and more.
The biggest feature of the site is it’s community message boards or ‘forums’.
“The Scrapbooking Source is not just another general resource site,” Kelso says. “We’ve put an emphasis on the community boards, since there’s not a lot of places scrapbookers can connect with each other and share ideas.”
The community boards feature two experts in the scrapbooking field – Val Selby and Lauren Haugh. Both are available for questions and help at the community boards, as well as offering their own tips and ideas on a regular basis. Each have a strong background in selling scrapbooking supplies, and have been making scrapbooks for several years.
Contests are planned for the month of November and December for all community board members, including a “post the most” contest where they will be offering scrapbooking supplies as prizes.
“We plan to do contests on a regular basis,” Kelso says.
