My take on the “Tim Holtz Grungepaper Flower” Dec. 22, 2009

Thanks Bona (and of course Tim!) for the inspiration to try this out! This is my take on the Tim Holtz Grungepaper Flower. I used my Cricut expression and the Platin Schoolbook cartridge to cut out the flower. You don’t need the #5 Sizzix flower die or Grungepaper. Check your scrapbooking supplies, you’ll be surprised with what you find! Don’t feel like you have to shop to create these beauties! Hope you enjoy the vid. Hugs, Arlene :-)

Thank you for the tips regarding the Cricut, I am going to check my carts right now!
Thanks so much for this video. Everyone always uses AE cart. Glad to know you can use other flowers to do this.

Hi, I found a 6 petal flower on my New Arrival (baby) cartridge, if anyone has that one! Thanks for sharing!
…sorry..it wasn’t a question :/ there is a step by step in pictures with noted instructions. I mention this because I was literally everywhere looking for this “tutorial”/ video and could not find it anywhere..obviously. haha….it was frustrating but..yeah..on the blog, under 12 tags of Christmas on the left (2009), then scroll down. Thanks! Jules
Hi Arlene, just need to ask…There is no tutorial on TH blog. I even emailed him and , surprisingly, he replied and said he never made a tutorial on the flower…?…he said he did a step out on the 12 tags of Christmas…so I just wanted you to know that it’s on that.
Thx for your video!
Jules:)
Thank you so much! You’re too sweet. :-)
Hi there! Grungeboard is alot thicker than grungepaper, almost closer to chip board. The Grungepaper is thinner and more pliable (bendable for the rose petals), almost more like card stock. :-) hope this helps and thank you so much for your sweet comment! :-)
Love these flowers! Thanks so much for sharing :-)
Hi,
Great video!
I use the old fashioned scissors to cut my flowers. :)
For this flower you use Grunge paper but I notice that in your mini albums you use Grunge board, what is the difference? I have seen Grunge board at Michaels but what about grunge paper? Thanks By the way love love love this flower. It is so beautfiul.!!!
Cute flower!! I love the idea of putting your vintage finding bud in the centre! I make my own glimmer with metallic acrylic paint lol, not that great but better than nothing :o) ah… One day… :o) TFS x
Can’t find Grunge Paper around here anywhere (local). Will have to buy on the net but I just hate waiting sometimes for this stuff to come in the mail….lol Thanks for the video!! Merry Christmas!!
ohhhh i love those.. NEED GRUNGEPAPER, NEED GRUNGEPAPER, NEED GRUNGEPAPER! LOL
I have the SCAL 1 and i love it! I bought myself a netbook and i’m good to go mobile as well..
Thanks for your kewl vids! I love looken at them… Again, someday, i’ll make my own.. :)
thanks so much…I have Suede on the way!
Merry Christmas, Jeannie
I take 1 heaping scoop of Perfect Pearls with the end of my paintbrush. :-)
SCAL? I’m not familiar with that.
You’re welcome! But I’m not Bona. :-)
Bona…your so sweet to take the time to share this! Thanks so much!
You will love the Gypsy once you get it! I know that I love mine so much! It makes things so much easier and I have taken it out of town with me so that I can get that scrapbooking time in even when I don’t have my stuff with me. :)
Hi again Arlene…
WOW ~~ this is the perfect flower to make a mini album ~~
I want to make one similar to your butterfly mini album ~ cut the flower in half for the closed album ~ and when opened it will be the full flower with pockets on each petal ~~
I actually got this idea from Laura (follow the paper trail) ~~ she made a holiday flower album ~ a poinsettia…and I realized a 6 petal flower would make an adorable mini album…
Thank you so much…
Enjoy…
Surie
Hi again Arlene…
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL…
Thank you so much for sharing…
Only when you use your CRICUT EXPRESSION ~ try using the multi cut function at 2 or 3 times to cut out the grunge board ~ or chip board…your die cuts will pop right out… it is sooooooooooooooo much easier…
Have a fun holiday season…

Super cool. Great Idea about the Cricut and cutting flowers. I just looked at my cartridges and found the flower that I have run over town looking for in a punch. Wow! It was right under my nose. Thanks for turning the light on.
Smart! I never even thought of using my Slice for this!! I thought I was going to have to buy yet ANOTHER sizzix die!! TFS
Oh my god I love this idea,…. I totally love your videos…. I will try this for sure… Thanks for the tip….
i saw it in a piaceofcraftdotcom :) The flowers are beutiful.
I was wondering if you use water or alcohol in your mini mister with your Perfect Pearls? Also wanted to share that I found another flower on Sweet Treats Cartridge. Thanks for making me look in my cartridge collection! I would have went out and gotten the die too! TFS!
