This is a very well designed and built storage system. It is easy to assemble and joy to use (my wife loves it).

The photograph of this item looked like the cart met my needs – one meant to house lots of different papers/photographs in labeled drawers, all with the option of mobility. Well…to start, this “thing” had more parts on it than anything I have ever assembled (I’ve assembled huge desks with hutches and attached cabinets that had 1/5th the parts). For each “drawer” on this “cart” there are corner tabs the must be shoved into place with great caref lest they bend out of shape or worse yet, rip through a finger like a paper cut on the drawer sides. Each “drawer” requires “rales” that afix to the tops/sides to make the drawer “square” and also sports a tab holder that uses little plastic “push pins” or similar that must be carefully shoved through the same plastic drawer front. However, more often than not, the “pin”, once placed, does hold the metal table holder firm enough against the drawer front thereby allowing the paper tab/label to simply fall through the bottom of the tab holder.

Overall, this thing took several hours to assemble – the instructions were okay, but the volume of parts was just ridiculous and the overall construction of very flexible plastic drawers (there is no real drawer bottom, the drawers are one sheet of rather thin plastic one folds to create a drawer – hence the many corners, caps and pins for each) means sliding the drawers require one to “pull slowly and carefully” otherwise everything is on the floor or the draw pulls out crooked and returns the same way.

The wheels…good luck with those….one can’t really “force” the wheels onto the bottom for fear of the entire thing just collapsing, thus I am left to remember never to pick up the unit to move it, otherwise I leave a wheel behind. The drawer depth is extremely shallow…as I should have noticed on the photo given the number of drawers….the drawers are meant for very flat paper only, don’t bother trying to use the drawer for any type of supplies or papers that dare to bend or curl for they will surely be caught when pulling a drawer and don’t count on the drawer tabs for identifying drawer contents. Oh, I’m cranky, I confess. The price was reasonable…but the assembly, the quality and the usefully is neither reasonable or functional (save for storing and leaving it put, maybe). It’s too bad really, the concept of a mobile, tall, narrow cart with lots of drawer space is ideal – this cart, however, is a prototype that belongs back in the “let’s fix it and make it useful and let’s toss in a bit of preassembly” pile. Don’t waste your money, instead use the several hours required to assemble this beast and find “the perfect cart” elsewhere.
